Peoria, Illinois

Web design for Peoria-area businesses.

Clay Vessel Digital is based in Washington, near Peoria. I build websites, online stores and practical business software for the shops, trades, clinics, studios and small manufacturers around Central Illinois — and you deal with the developer directly, not a sales team two states away.

Who I help locally

Businesses around Central Illinois.

The common thread is not an industry. It is a business that has outgrown how it looks online, or one being slowed down by how the work gets tracked.

Trades and home services

Contractors, HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, cleaning. People find you on a phone, mid-problem. The site has to load fast, prove you are real, and put a tappable number in front of them.

Clinics and practices

Dental, chiropractic, therapy, veterinary. New patients want hours, insurance, location and a way to book without a phone call.

Shops, studios and restaurants

Retailers, salons, gyms, fitness studios and food businesses that need a real presence, current hours, and online ordering, booking or class registration.

Professional services

Accountants, agencies, insurance and law offices whose credibility online has to match the room they meet clients in.

Manufacturers and B2B suppliers

Central Illinois has a deep industrial base. A clear site with real product and capability information saves your team from answering the same qualifying questions by phone.

Nonprofits and community organizations

Groups that need donations, registrations, volunteers and events handled without a volunteer manually chasing each one.

What that looks like

The work local businesses ask for.

These are common starting points for businesses in the area. Most projects begin with one clear need rather than all five.

01

Website redesigns

Most Peoria-area businesses do not need a first website — they need the one they have to stop working against them. That usually means a clearer structure, faster pages, honest content, and a design that matches the business today. Where the foundation is sound, I will say so and fix rather than rebuild.

02

Online booking and registration

Appointments, classes, estimates, service calls, event sign-ups. Taking these online is usually the single change that most reduces phone-tag — for a salon, a clinic, a studio, or a contractor booking site visits.

Ecommerce

For shops and makers selling locally who want a real online channel, plus the boring-but-essential parts: stock that stays honest, orders that reach you in one place, and local pickup or delivery when that is how you actually operate.

Local SEO foundations

The technical groundwork that lets you compete locally: a page per service, descriptive titles, fast mobile pages, local business structured data, and consistent name, address and phone details. Paired with a properly filled-in Google Business Profile, which I will help you set up — that profile does most of the work in map results.

05

Business workflow tools

Scheduling, job tracking, quoting and intake for businesses running on spreadsheets and paper. Often worth more than the website, because it gives back hours every week.

Why work with me

You talk to the person building it.

I take a small number of projects at a time. The person who learns your business is the person who designs the solution, writes the code, and is still there when you call after launch. That keeps communication direct and recommendations grounded in the way your business actually works.

That also means straight answers. If a redesign will not fix what is actually wrong — or if a cheaper tool would do the job — I would rather tell you that early than take the work.

Process

Four steps. No mystery.

Local project or remote, the same four steps apply — starting with a conversation about the business rather than a page count.

  1. Discover

Understand the business and the real problem.

  2. Design

Agree the scope, structure, and interface.

  3. Build

Review working versions as the solution takes shape.

  4. Launch

Test, launch, and hand over what you own.

FAQ

Local questions.

Do you meet with clients in person around Peoria?

Yes. If you are in Washington, Peoria, East Peoria, Morton, Pekin, Dunlap, Chillicothe, or nearby, meeting face to face for the first conversation is easy and often the fastest way to understand a business. After that, most projects run comfortably over calls and email.

How do I show up in the Google map results for Peoria?

Map results are driven mostly by your Google Business Profile: a complete, verified listing with the right categories, service area, hours, photos and reviews. Your website supports it with matching contact details, local business structured data, and a page for each service. I set up the website side and will walk you through the profile — it is free, and it is usually the highest-return hour a local business can spend.

Do I need a physical address to rank locally?

No. Service-area businesses — contractors, mobile services, consultants — can be listed by the area they serve rather than a storefront address. That is a setting on your Google Business Profile, and hiding a home address is normal and allowed.

Do you work with businesses outside Peoria?

Yes. Being local is a convenience, not a requirement. I work with clients across Central Illinois and beyond, and the work is the same either way.

Can you take over a site somebody else built?

Usually, provided you can get access to the domain and hosting. I will look at what is there, tell you honestly whether it is worth keeping, and make sure you end up owning everything either way.

My competitors' sites all look the same. Does that matter?

It is an opportunity. In a lot of local categories, every competitor is on the same template with the same stock photography. A site that is specific about what you do, who you do it for, and what happens next stands out for very little extra cost.
